History and origin
The Chachar claim Mughal (tribe) origin, and claim descent from the famous king Timur But according to another tradition, Surar, Subhago, Silro and Chachar were once slaves of Bunga Rai, the Raja of Umarkot in Sindh and were freed by Jam Jakhar.A Glossary of the tribes & castes of Punjab by H.
